I have owned a lot of different types of stabilizers, the TAP DOA kit has become a staple for all of my bows. There is not a comparable quality product out there. These are the best. The mounting hardware is lightweight and low profile in comparison to most competitors, and the DOA shaft is lightweight, both of these factors combined allow the weights on the end of the stabilizer to do what it does best, put the weight where it needs to be in order to be effective.
The kits I have seen from other companies have heavy and bulky mounting hardware, counteracting the stabilizers function, meaning you need more weights at the end of the stabilizer to counteract the hardware you mount it with. Not the case with TAP products. Also, the design of that hardware stays super tight, giving me confidence that my stabilizers are not going to move when I’m shooting or moving around in the woods. I cannot sing the praises of the DOA kits enough.
I shoot a Mathews Triax and VXR 31, both of them balance perfectly with the twin 8.75 TAP DOA kit with 5 oz weight on back, and 1 oz out front. If you haven’t tried these and are on the fence, I promise you that you won’t find a better quality option. Game changer for sure, stop fighting the sight bubble, and stop fighting a top heavy bow, these will make the bow sit plumb in hand reducing fatigue and reducing opportunity for inaccuracy.
I read a bunch of reviews on this before purchasing and everything I heard was great. I was slightly disappointed. The screws I received only allowed me to fit 2 oz. or 5 oz. The longer screw doesn’t screw all the way in so if I put less than 5 oz. the weights slide back and forth.
Hello Joshua, I'm sorry to see that you're not pleased.
We post on our website in several locations what the various length screws we sell hold in terms of amount of weights. All of our single stabilizer packages (what you ordered) will come with the one 5/8 inch screw which is designed to hold 1-2 weights. Any 2 stabilizer bundle package will come with the 5/8 inch screw installed on the front stabilizer and it will include a 1-1/4 inch screw on the side stabilizer.
The add-on 4 oz weight stacks (like you ordered) always comes with a 1-1/2 inch screw and it WILL turn all the way into the stabilizer with anywhere from 4-6 oz on it. You may need to turn the screw with a little more force! .... but it can be made to thread all the way in and hold your weights tightly.
thank you for your support -- I hope you'll see that we do care deeply about our products functioning well and customer satisfaction. -- Sam
This is my first side stabilizer and I can say it really helps. It was easy to set up and seen a instant improvement in my groups.
Perfect fit and finish, easy to install and after only 15min of setting up got my bubble leveled out. Just a great company making great products w/o gimmicks and B/S.
Easy to set up, made an instant impact on the stability of my set up, will be purchasing again!
